Biography


Michael Hanf is a performer, composer and engineer based in Brooklyn. Born in Lyndhurst, NJ, he started playing drums at a young age. After getting a BA majoring in music (vibraphone performance), he moved to New York and began a career as a session musician in addition to writing, co-writing and recording three personal albums.

He has done session work for Oh Land, Eleanor Friedberger and Joseph Keckler among others. He currently plays with the bands San Fermin, Hess is More, French Camp and Future Wife with Young Jean Lee and has toured with these groups in the U. S. and around the world.
