Biography

Donald Barrett was born in Waukegan, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. He learned to play the drums at the age of three years old, and while on a scholarship to Northern Illinois University, he immersed himself in every musical style and situation including jazz trios, gospel choir, big band and orchestra. Donald Barrett relocated to the city of Los Angeles in 2003 and has since become a first call for session and touring work around and outside the U.S. Donald Barrett has worked with Lady Gaga Toni Braxton, George Benson, Sade, Seal, Pink, New Kids On The Block, Jesse McCartney, Dolly Parton, CeCe Winans, Yolanda Adams, Lionel Richie, Colbie Caillat, Miguel, Leona Lewis, Pussy Cat Dolls, Snoop Dog, George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelic, Katy Perry, Shawn Mendes and many more. Donald Barrett has also worked on many film and tv projects for Disney, NBC, CBS and MTV. Currently Donald Barrett is the drummer for Lady Gaga’s new jazz residency "Lady Gaga Jazz Jazz And Piano Show" in Las Vegas and he is also the Music Director at his church The Fountain Church located in Pomona California.

Mark II: Tends to be a bit livelier and brighter. This manifests itself in the overall sound character and in particular in the bell and ping sound. Mark II also has a bit more volume potential due to its more open character.
